i love the Halloween franchise so i wanted to do a blu-ray cover for the original, Ive seen many great fan made posters online but the resources just aren't there to create them. Anyway this is what i have so far, different but still simple i really want to make it pop any suggestions would help.

I'm not a Halloween fan, but this is a great start.

I'd probably do the tagline in white, the orange is pretty dominating on the front like that.

For me Michael should be bigger, as it is he is competing for focus with the house image because they are near the same size...

The house might need to be smaller maybe if you make him bigger, not sure would have to see how it fits.

There is a lot of negative space on both sides of the main image currently.

update better ?, i know there's some black space, the original poster was just black but i wanted to do better.

these posters i attached are examples of what i originally wanted but with the resources i couldn't make it work

there are no good pictures anywhere of Michael Myers  this was one of the best i could find and i added a filter over the original image.

the tagline font is the movie font

You've got a great start

I like what you have so far but I feel you still need to work on the front before going onto the back.

• I would reduce the size of the TT as it's very close to the egdes, a bit of breathing space is always a good thing in design.
  
• I don't know if it's my crappy TN display monitor but I can see the dividing line where the house image is.
  
• I've not seen any of the Halloween films so can't really suggest what to add but I feel like the front needs something more, how about using the moon idea on the last poster? Add some clouds and fog to make it more atmospheric?

Looks like a promising start, the image I've attached is just an example of thousands out there, Mikey is timeless so I think pretty much any image would work, remember grit merciless and evil, oh yeah and blood, mikey likes his blood! Good start my friend...

thanks chefjoe im trying to keep in theme with 1978 Michael Myers, the mysterious stalker , the image you posted is the 2018 Michael Myers, ive been huge fan of the frachise for over 20 yrs and watch the franchise yearly

If you look at the first poster in your first post, notice how they made the clouds and fog the same blue as the blue in the poster?

Your KA would benefit from the fog and clouds being the same blue as the house, the dark areas of the moon should be that same blue too...

thanks CT i appreciate any and all helps, i tried to add more people in the background but i didn't like it.

touched up the fog and clouds still not sure but that's its a WIP

The blue of the house is a different shade from the blue of the clouds, I'd make them match either adjust the house to them or the other other way around.

Your preview is actually rather small and it's not suppose to be in 3D (case around it), it should be just a flat jpg of the front about 700px Tall, that would be about twice the size of what you have and easier to see, that is what the guidelines say to use ie full cover @ 1200px wide...

Anyway adding a brighter color adjustment to it all, other than his hands and face mask them out some but tint them too, that would make it flow and pop more.

This looks very nice. However, I do agree with ct. I think it would look much better if you adjusted the color of the clouds, and tinted the hands to match with the same color of blue as the house.

Going back to what I said I don't think Mike Myers looks good in the cover. I'd take Mike Myers out of the front. You can use other iconic images, like the kid in a halloween costume or even the multiple knives motif. You don't need to put Myers on the front. To me, it just doesn't look good.

But I'm just one person among all those that commented. I don't know how they and you feel about it.
If you like it go for it. I'm just being honest so you can make the best cover possible. Please, don't take my comment the wrong way.

for me being avid fan of the franchise i love Michael Myers and hes the star of the franchise. little michael myers in the clown suit was a 5-10 min part of the movie and was never seen again accept in flash backs. the poster has been done to death and i didn't want to slap a poster on the front and call it a day. i love michael on the front it gives an immediate sense of the boogeyman or the slasher. the resources besides the original poster weren't not the greatest or best quality. i used the original poster art as my spine image.

That being said thank you for commenting your input is very appreciated.

update here what i was thinking for the back, its a quality image which is why i used it maybe the fade needs work thoughts

Great update.  

This is just a personal preference, but I'm not a big fan of the synopsis text being centered. Also, the synopsis might look a little better if you could adjust the spacing between each word. Right now there are some big gaps.
