Routers

Postby Wrench » Nov Fri 19, 2021 5:00 pm

Having router problems, not being able to connect to some sites but able to connect to others.
Have tried 2 win 10 towers, 2 win 10 laptops. MS edge, Firefox and chrome all with the same results.
Took one of the laptops to my daughters across the street and it works fine.
Common denominator to the problem is the router.
Looking for suggestions on what router to buy. I don't need a gaming router.
I have a Netgear RAX43 Nighthawk bought 11 months ago.
What are you folks using and how long have you had it. Are you happy with it or is there issues with it.

Thanks for the help

I had the same problem 2 years ago.
Mine was a TP Link (4 years old) and after I checked with my provider (Comcast) the end of the story was that my old router was not compatible with the service provided.
At that point I rented one from them (modem router) and it solved the problem. Good thing I rented... left Florida in March'20 and not going back for at least another year.

Have had the same issue myself.

I cured it by just taking the cheap monthly rental form the Provider, once you have theirs the problems magically vanish...

Then I need not worry about it, if the net falls I bitch at them until it is working again...

Is more than worth the 5.00 per month it costs, as the service hardly every drops here anyway.

And the WiFi range on it is many times the ones I had bought...
